Long Island Maine Elopement

They say if you don't like the weather, in Maine all you have to do is wait five minutes. That could not have been more true for Paul and Nancy's wedding day. I met Paul and Nancy through my job working for Casco Bay lines, and I have never met two people more kind, welcoming, and loving. They open their arms and their doors to so many in their community and that was evident in their guest list for their tiny island elopement. First it was a beautiful clear day, then just as quickly it wasn't. Paul and Nancy gathered their closest friends and family from the island, and had a small ceremony on their waterfront property of their family rental. As they sky darkened, our hearts were lighted by the words and promises Paul and Nancy made to each other. They sealed their promise with a kiss, and just as we all walked into the house to share a meal, the sky opened up and rain fell hard and fast around us. Everyone watched through the windows as the rain stopped, the sky cleared up and the sun came back out to give us the sunset of a lifetime.

We danced in puddles, hugged, laughed, and drank to celebrate the two most deserving people of a happy love story. Congratulations you two, and thank you for allowing me to share in the festivities and honor of telling your love story. By golly, it's a good one.
